Arena setup
How to create arenas, check them and run several per event.

How arenas work
An arena belongs to one event and has a name, for example spleef/main or spleef/winter. It stores a handful of generic things, and each event says which of them it needs:
| Kind | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Lobby | Where players wait between rounds: a point, a WorldGuard region, or both. With a region, each player lands on a random surface spot inside it. | /aevent setspawn |
| Exit | Where everyone is sent when the event ends or they leave. Without one they return to where they joined from. | /aevent setexit |
| Regions | Named WorldGuard regions: lobby, arena, and event-specific ones such as finish or hill. | /aevent region finish <region> |
| Points | Single locations such as fight-a or flag-red. | /aevent point flag-red |
| Lists | Numbered locations such as spawns, checkpoints or chairs, in the order you add them. | /aevent addpoint checkpoints |
Arenas are saved by the plugin in arenas/<event>/<name>.yml. Create and change them with the commands, not by hand.
Select, then edit
Setup works on a selection, like WorldEdit. Select an arena once and every setup command edits that arena until you select another.
/aevent select tntrun main create or select tntrun/main
/aevent setspawn lobby point (your position)
/aevent region arena tnt_floor the region that holds the floor
/aevent addspawn a spawn point (your position), repeat
/aevent check what is still missing?
/aevent start tntrun
With nothing selected the setup commands edit spleef/main, which is what they always did before 3.0, so existing setups keep working.
Checking an arena
/aevent check [event] [arena] lists every requirement with a tick or a cross, and for each cross the command that fixes it. /aevent start runs the same check and refuses to start an arena that is not ready, printing the same list.
ALPHAEVENT » SETUP CHECK ― spleef / main
✔ lobby (point or region)
✖ arena region (the floor) → /aevent region arena <region>
✔ spawn points
Several arenas for one event
Run /aevent select spleef winter to create a second arena. /aevent start spleef then picks a random ready arena; /aevent start spleef winter picks that one. /aevent arenas spleef lists them and /aevent delarena spleef winter removes one that is not in use.
What the plugin does to your regions
Regions are yours; the plugin only changes a WorldGuard flag while a round is live and puts it back to exactly what it was afterwards.
| Flag | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
block-break allow | Spleef rounds | Avoids WorldGuard's "you can't build here" message on every break. The plugin still decides who may break what. |
block-place and block-break allow | Build Battle building phase | Players build in their own plot. |
pvp allow | Sumo, Knockback Stick, Snowball Fight, Hot Potato and every PvP event | WorldGuard otherwise answers "you can't PvP here" to projectile hits. |
ride allow | Boat Race | Players are seated in boats at the start. |
While a round is live, nobody who is not taking part can break or place blocks inside the arena region, or hit a participant.
Coming from 2.x
On the first start of 3.x the plugin converts arena.yml into arenas/spleef/main.yml and keeps the original in backup/2.x/. Spawn point numbers are renumbered from 1. See Configuration → Upgrading.
