Start with the server console: StealABlock logs a specific line for most of the problems below. Each card shows the symptom, the likely cause, and the fix.

Startup

The plugin does not enable

Cause: FastAsyncWorldEdit is missing, or only plain WorldEdit is installed.
Fix: Install FastAsyncWorldEdit for your Minecraft version and restart. See Integrations.

Console: Could not create data.yml or Could not save data.yml

Cause: The server cannot write to plugins/alpha-stealblock/: wrong file permissions, a full disk, or a read-only folder.
Fix: Give the server user write access to the folder. Until you do, balances and progress are not being saved.

Arenas and prestige

/asb duplicate says to make sure the original has bounds

Cause: The original arena never had its region bounds set.
Fix: Run /asb setup <arena> on the original and set the arena bounds with the wand, then duplicate again.

Console: Could not find schematic prestige_… for plot N

Cause: Prestige pastes a schematic from plugins/alpha-stealblock/schematics/, and the file for that plot is not there.
Fix: Add the file with the exact name for that prestige level. Odd and even plot numbers use different files for prestige 1. A .schematic file with the same name is accepted as a fallback.

Console: No prestige paste origin set for prestige N on plot M

Cause: The plot has no paste origin for that prestige, so the plugin falls back to the plot's first corner and the schematic lands in the wrong place.
Fix: In /asb setup, use the Prestige 1 or Prestige 2 paste origin mode on the wand and right-click the block the schematic should paste from.

A player has enough rebirths but cannot prestige

Cause: Prestige needs a GOAT-rarity block in storage right now, and (prestige + 1) × 10 total rebirths. Money is not part of it.
Fix: See Gameplay → Prestige.

Configuration

Console: Invalid material 'X' for block 'Y'

Cause: An entry in blocks.yml uses a material name that does not exist on this Minecraft version.
Fix: Correct the material in blocks.yml and run /asb reload. Entries with a bad material are skipped, so players never see them.

Console: Invalid event type configured in config.yml, or no automatic events

Cause: A name under auto-events.events is not one of the seven event types, or the list is empty while auto-events.enabled is true. With no valid type left, the scheduler does not start.
Fix: Use names from Event types, then /asb reload.

Milestone claimed, credits arrive, but no cash

Cause: The cash comes from the console command in commands: (default eco give %player% …). If no plugin on your server owns eco, it does nothing.
Fix: Replace the command with your economy plugin's give-money command. See Configuration → milestones.yml.

Players

The weather turned stormy in every world

Cause: A Lightning Storm event started, from staff or from auto-events.
Fix: It ends with the event. Staff can end one early with /event stop. To stop it from happening on its own, remove LIGHTNING_STORM from auto-events.events.

Staff have "the permission" but the command refuses them

Cause: The node names are spelled inconsistently (staleablock.admin, stealblock.credits, stealablock.lockbase.bypass).
Fix: Copy them from Permissions exactly.

Players are told to wait before chatting or running a command

Cause: The built-in anti-spam: 1.5 s between messages, 1 s between commands, no identical repeats.
Fix: The intervals are fixed in code. Give trusted ranks staleablock.bypass.spam.
