Requirements
| What | Needed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Server software | Paper | The plugin does not declare Folia support, so run it on Paper. |
| Minecraft | 1.21.4 or newer | The 1.0.0 release has jars for 1.21.4, 1.21.8, 1.21.11, 26.1.2 and 26.2. There is no 1.21.1 build. |
| Java | 21 or 25 | 1.21.x servers use Java 21. 26.x servers use Java 25. |
| FastAsyncWorldEdit | Required | The plugin will not enable without it. Plain WorldEdit is not enough. |
| PlaceholderAPI | Optional | Only for the %stealablock_*% placeholders. |
Choose the right jar
Every release is built once per Minecraft version, and the file name says which one it is for:
alpha-stealblock-1.0.0-mc-1.21.11-java21.jar
alpha-stealblock-1.0.0-mc-26.2-java25.jar
Pick the jar whose mc- part matches your server. A jar built for 26.x is compiled for Java 25 and will not load on a Java 21 server.
Install
- Stop the server. Do not hot-load the plugin.
- Add the jars. Put FastAsyncWorldEdit and the StealABlock jar in
plugins/. - Start the server. The console prints the StealABlock banner, and the plugin creates
plugins/alpha-stealblock/with its default files. - Create your first arena. Follow Quick start:
/asb create,/asb setup,/asb enable.
The files you will see afterwards are described in Configuration → File layout.
Update
- Back up
plugins/alpha-stealblock/data.ymlandarenas.yml. They hold every player's balance, rebirth, prestige and credits, and every arena you built. - Stop the server, replace the old jar with the new one, and start it again.
- Leave the data folder alone. Your existing files are kept as they are.
/asb reload re-reads the YAML files but never loads a new jar. A plugin update always needs a restart.
