Troubleshooting

The problems server owners actually hit.

Check the server console first. Each card gives the symptom, the likely cause and the fix.

Startup

Console: AlphaOrder is disabled — this server is waiting for approval.

Cause: A new server starts as pending, and the plugin stays off until AlphaStudio approves it.
Fix: Send the server id from the next console line to AlphaStudio, then restart once it is approved. See Server approval.

The plugin fails to load libraries

Cause: On first start the server downloads NLib, HikariCP and a JSON library. A server with no outgoing internet cannot.
Fix: Allow outgoing HTTPS for the first start. The libraries are cached afterwards.

Players cannot open /order

The player is told the economy is unavailable

Cause: No Vault economy provider was registered when the order was posted or paid.
Fix: Install Vault and an economy plugin. The plugin loads after Vault and Alpha-system and retries the hook.

An order is refused

Cause: The player is at their limit, cannot afford the total, the price is outside the allowed range, or the item is blacklisted.
Fix: Check the limit under Limits, the range under Price limits, and the blacklist in config.yml.

A custom item cannot be ordered

Cause: features.custom-items is off, the provider plugin is missing, or the id is not in customitems.yml.
Fix: Turn the feature on, install the plugin and list the id.

The refund is smaller than what was paid

Cause: The refund covers undelivered items only, and the highlight fee is not refunded.
Fix: That is by design. Lower settings.highlight-fee if it is too steep.

MySQL does not connect

Cause: The host, port, database name or login under database is wrong.
Fix: Correct them and restart. The shipped password is a placeholder you must change.
