WhatNeededNotes
Server softwarePaper or FoliaFolia support is declared and scheduling uses region and entity schedulers.
Minecraft1.21.1 or newerJars are built per Minecraft version, see Choose the right jar.
Java21 or 251.21.x servers use Java 21. 26.x servers use Java 25.
Vault + an economy pluginFor money rewardsMost bundled quests pay money.
NetworkOutgoing HTTPSNeeded for server approval.

Choose the right jar

AlphaQuests-<version>-mc-<minecraft>-java<java>.jar

Use the jar whose mc- part matches your server. Builds exist for 1.21.1, 1.21.4, 1.21.8 and 1.21.11 on Java 21, and for 26.1.2 and 26.2 on Java 25. A jar built for 26.x will not load on Java 21.

Install

  1. Stop the server and put the jar in plugins/, with Vault and your economy plugin.
  2. Start it. The plugin creates plugins/AlphaQuests/ with config.yml, categories.yml, lang/, menus/ and quests/. A fresh install includes the bundled quests.
  3. Get approved. A new server is pending and the plugin stays off. The console prints your server id. Send it to AlphaStudio, wait for approval and restart. See Server approval.
  4. Test. Run /quests.

Update

  1. Back up plugins/AlphaQuests/. Player progress is stored there when you use the default YAML storage.
  2. Replace the jar and restart. /aquests reload never loads a new jar.
  3. Existing files are kept. Missing lang and menu keys fall back to the bundled defaults. New sample content and updated category text apply to new installs only, so compare the bundled files if you want them on an existing server.
Changes to the storage section need a full restart. A reload does not switch storage.
